1968 Ford Mustang GT J code 302 4 barrel This is a very clean and straight black 68 mustang fastback with a great body. It had one floor pan replaced on the left side front. The fastback has just been finished after a two year restoration. The body was in great shape it has its original quarters, floor pans, except for the left front pan. Doors are original also. New fenders and turn signal hood was installed. Most of the chrome was replaced including, bumpers front and rear, door handles outside, trunk molding, trunk letters, GT emblems, grill molding front and hood moldings. New taillight bezels, GT gas cap and new rear glass molding. The rocker panels molding are new also. The weather stripping was replaced, lower door, roof rail, front and rear glass, belt liners, and trunk and door seals. The windshield is new and it is tinted and shaded. Engine: the J code 302 engine has been rebuilt and was balanced. The cam spec. is just above 289 hipo and really runs great. The headers are tri-y and there powder coated. New water pump, starter, fuel pump, Edelbrock Carburetor and all sending units. The upper and lower radiator hoses were replaced also. The distributor is a Billet HEI and the plug wires are Accel. The intake is an Edelbrock that has been powder coated and also the valve covers. Engine runs great and very strong. Transmission: The C-4 trans were rebuilt and new u-joints were installed also. The rear end is a 9 inch with 3:00 gears. Exhaust: The exhaust is the Flow master kit connected to the original type exhaust tips and they sound great. Suspension: The upper ball joints, strut rod bushings were replaced. The lower control and bushings had been replaced before the restoration and everything checked out. The brakes were completely rebuilt to include new flex hoses. It has drum brakes front and rear. The shocks are new front and rear. Interior: The car came as a deluxe interior but has been changed over to standard interior. It has the over head console and floor console; the radio face plate will be installed later. All of the dash bezels and panels are new including the dash pad and sun visors. The door panels are new along with the inside door handles and window handles. The carpet is new along with the scuff plates, kick panels, head liner, and wind lace. The dash has the optional clock. The steering wheel is the deluxe wood gain. I will be installing the new buttons and horn wood gain panel on the steering wheel. The tires are BFGoodrich 225x60x15 and the wheels are American racing torq-thrust II 15x7. This is a mustang that can be shown or driven, the black paint looks mirror straight. The Horse power is in the 280 range very street able yet you can have fun with this one.
