1967 GT 500 Shelby Re-Creation|
It is a 1968 GT S code 390 Fastback
This is a full rotisserie restoration of a 1968 GT S code fastback with a beautiful body, it has a detail undercarriage that is good as they come, with red oxide floor pans.
Body: it is a complete rotisserie restoration, everything was stripped to bear metal and detailed as if was a real Shelby. The body is very straight and the paint is perfect, body lines are better than factory! The Shelby parts were added with correct emblems, stripes, head lights, tail lights, and roll bar was added. New windshield that is tinted and shaded and all new window moldings were installed.
Engine: the GT 390 engine was rebuilt using Edelbrock Aluminum Heads and Edelbrock aluminum intake, ARP bolt kit was used on the heads. Harland Sharp roller rockers and heavy duty rocker arm shafts, The cam is 572 lift and 234 duration. Engine bore is 30 over with forge pistons, 10.1 compression. The crank is standard. New water pump, fuel pump, Alternator, Mallory Dist., Holley 750 CFM Carburetor. All new radiator hoses, belts, plugs, plug wires, sending units oil and temp.
Suspension: The suspension was completely restored, new springs, shocks, upper and lower control arms, all tie rod ends and center link were replaced. New disc-brake calipers and rotors, lines, bearings were installed. The rear brakes are drum and they were done the same. The rear differential has been rebuilt with new bearings, seals and it has a 3.89 gear. Transmission is the original 4 speed top loader and new seals were install during the rebuild. The exhaust system used the 67 Shelby exhaust tips and 2 camber Flow Master Mufflers. The wheels are 17x8 Eleanor type and tires are Nitto 245/45ZR17.
Body: the body was stripped to bear metal. It was a 68 GT 390 Fastback. And a very good body, I do have pictures of the restoration and you can tell it has a great body to do a Shelby GT500 restoration. I was a rotisserie restoration that was done as if it was a real SHELBY. The entire Shelby fiberglass was hand fitted to have the best body lines. All new Shelby reproductions parts were used to build this mustang. The paint is perfect and the straightness of the body is just Great! It takes a Great craftsman to do the paint and body work like this one. The floor pans are done in red oxide with the correct over spray of body color.
Interior: The interior was restored to a 67 standard interior, new seat covers, seat buns, carpet, headliner, door panels, kick panels, dash pad, instrument cluster and dash panels, heater core, weather stripping, chrome for fold down seat, windshield tinted and shaded, new front and rear glass moldings. Vent window frames were replated and new weather stripping was installed. New wood gain steering wheel with polished hub was installed. Window cranks and door handle were replaced. GT-500 Shelby emblem on dash panel is just beautiful. It has a FM/AM radio but is not working and it has a new radio bezel, so the option of the radio is available for the buyer to install.
This is a great re-creation of the GT 500 Shelby, The craftsmanship is just Great, Many, Many long hours of labor to restored this Mustang, it is a personalize restoration and it could have been left as a GT “S” code 390 Mustang fastback and still been worth the price of the restoration.
