1965 Mustang Fastback A code 289 4 barrel Description: 4 Speed, Power Steering, Power Disc-Brakes, A/C perfect fit system condition. Fresh restoration of a very clean California Black plate car. Body: The body is very straight and has a restoration paint job, which is show quality. The paint is base coat / clear coat and has been polished to glass finish. All weather stripping has been replaced to include, door lower, roof rail, trunk, front and rear glass seals, door seals, beltliners. Front and rear bumpers, outside door handles, gas cap, and remote left hand mirror, rocker panel moldings, all emblems, trunk lock bezel, tail light lens, GT trumpets and GT trim rings. A new tinted windshield was installed. The body is very solid and have not found any rust or rust repair, it has its original floor pans. Quarter panels are original; doors are very clean showing no repair. The lower frame rails have some bent places from Jacking but are solid. Interior: The interior has been restored and was changed from standard to pony. The Black pony seat covers and pony door panels were installed along with new stainless steel trim. The New pony door inside door handles and window handles. The dash pad was replaced with an original Ford tooling dash pad. New instrument cluster bezel and lens were installed. New carpet, scuff plates, pony kick panels, headliner, sun visors and brackets, rear view mirror day/nite and mirror bracket, new wood gain steering wheel, wind lace, new front seat belts, new trunk mat. The rear quarter trim panel has no holes in them and are in great shape. The Am radio works!! This interior restoration was done right! Engine: The engine has been rebuilt 7 K miles ago. It has a 302 engine with Weiand intake and 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor with electric choke, an original hi-po disturber with the Pertronix Ignitor and flame thrower coil. The plug wires are Summitt racing. The oil pan is the deep sump Milodon with pickup tube. Has mild cam very streetable but has a nice sound and runs great. The new headers are Jet hot coated with the Ball type connecter and new 2 1/2 pipe to flow master mufflers and GT exhaust, it is new from engine to rear! The new radiator is a 4 flew heavy duty and can handle a/c. New upper and lower radiator hoses were installed. The engine runs great and runs strong. The air cleaner is the oval cobra type and has the Mustang aluminum valve covers to match. The engine compartment has the chrome export brace and Monte Carlo bar. The engine compartment is detail nicely. Suspension: The mustang has power steering and power disc-brakes. I installed the new brake booster and master cylinder, New shocks were installed and new inner and outer tie rods were replaced during the restoration, upper and lower control arms were replaced or rebuilt, new spring seats and coil springs, new strut rod bushings and sway bar end links were replaced. The front suspension is very tight and drives great. The car came with power brakes but the front disc- brakes were added. New u-joints were installed. Wheels are American racing 17X8 with 255x40x17 Zeon 2 x 2 Cooper tires. The rear end is an 8 inch with 3.00 gears. Transmission: it has a 4 speed top loader transmission and a new Hurst shifter. It shifts great!! Data Plate information. Vin: 5R09A164523 63A fastback STD interior. {Pony now} Color H Caspian blue. {Silver now} Trim 22 blue vinyl. {Now Black} Date 15M December {correct}. DSO 71 Los Angeles. {correct} Axle 1 3.00:1 {correct} Trans. 5 4 speed {correct} This is not a matching number car. It is a very beautiful restoration restor-mod or personalizes Mustang. It is a factory a code 4 barrel and 4 speed and very solid California car. It is a fun driver or show car, it is beautiful setting still but it is a ball to drive!
